Pictures from the Saturday Night Cruise Car Show, Canal Street, New Smyrna Beach (12/9/06)

TIJUANA TAXI-Stephen Adamovic, of Port Orange, props his feet against his Volkswagen waiting for other unique cars to make their way toward Saturday Night Cruise. Stephen, and brother Ricky, salvaged this beetle from a 25-year-old stay in a barn. They took four weeks "to get it the way they wanted," and named it the Tijuana Taxi.

SANTA CARS-Bob Pendergast, of Port Orange, props his Santa hat from his car's rear view mirror during the monthly Saturday Night Cruise on Canal Street. Many cars sported holiday decorations for the December meet.

Pictures 1 through 7 are all taken from the monthly car meet.

The Saturday Night Cruise Car Show meets every second Saturday of each month from 4 to 8 PM. Canal Street is cleared of local traffic to allow classic cars, trucks and motorcycles to angle park along the sidewalks. Oglers can walk amongst the cars and eye the engines projecting from beneath propped up hoods. Many of the participants are members of the East Coast Cruisers of New Smyrna Beach, but other car enthusiasts travel from all over Central Florida to attend the meet.

Lastly, just a scenic shot of the Intracoastal Waterway. The two birds care little of the exhaust and fumes a few blocks from their perches.
